Senior Network Engineer
The client is a fast-growing technology organization operating highly distributed, security-sensitive systems across cloud and hybrid environments. They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available network infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications and global teams.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain scalable network architectures across AWS, GCP, Azure , and on-prem environments
Architect VPC/VNet designs, subnets, routing, NAT, and peering strategies
Design secure hybrid connectivity including VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and interconnects
Plan network capacity, redundancy, and failover for high availability
Implement and manage cloud networking components including:
VPC/VNet routing and segmentation
Load balancers (ALB, NLB, ELB, Application Gateway)
Transit gateways and hub-and-spoke models
Support multi-region and multi-account networking strategies
Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
Design and manage network security controls including:
Firewalls (cloud-native and physical)
Security groups, NACLs, and routing policies
DDoS protection and WAF configurations
Partner with Security teams to enforce zero-trust and least-privilege networking models
Support compliance and audit requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA as applicable)
Automate network provisioning and configuration using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM
Develop scripts and tooling using Python, Bash, or Go for network automation and validation
Build repeatable, version-controlled network architectures
Reduce manual network operations through self-service and automation
Implement network monitoring and observability using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or SolarWinds
Analyze latency, packet loss, throughput, and availability metrics
Lead network incident response and root cause analysis
Continuously optimize network performance and resilience
Manage enterprise networking components including routers, switches, and firewalls
Support corporate office connectivity, SD-WAN, and remote access solutions
Maintain DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and certificate-related network services
Collaborate with IT and Systems teams on end-user network reliability
Partner with Infrastructure, SRE, Platform, and Security teams on architecture decisions
Support application teams with network design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Document network designs, standards, and runbooks
Mentor junior network and infrastructure engineers
Qualification
Required
7–12+ years of experience in network engineering roles
Strong expertise in TCP/IP, routing (BGP, OSPF), and switching fundamentals
Hands-on experience with cloud networking in at least one major cloud provider
Experience with VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, and network security architectures
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling
Proven experience supporting production, business-critical networks
Preferred
Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, or zero-trust networking
Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer
Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI, ingress, service meshes)
Familiarity with global content delivery networks (CloudFront, Fastly, Akamai)
Background in high-growth or regulated environments
