Responsibilities
Own engineering execution for Boucoup end to end
Lead, mentor, and support the engineers building the product
Set clear expectations around quality, delivery, and ownership
Help the team make good technical decisions without over-engineering
Work closely with the VP of Product & Development on product strategy and roadmap planning
Translate product goals into clear, executable engineering plans
Provide input on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs to keep initiatives realistic and on track
Help facilitate and drive large, cross-cutting features and initiatives
Ensure major features and initiatives are delivered predictably and with high quality
Identify risks early (technical, timeline, dependencies) and help the team navigate them
Balance speed and pragmatism with long-term platform health
Be accountable for execution — not just plans
Collaborate closely with DevOps & IT on environments, deployments, scalability, and reliability
Collaborate with Security to ensure secure development practices and compliance expectations
Collaborate with QA to maintain strong testing and release confidence
Collaborate with Business Analysts to ensure requirements are clear and actionable
Help align engineering delivery with client implementations and real-world usage
Guide architectural decisions that support Boucoup’s growth
Maintain a strong bar for code quality, testing, and maintainability
Make practical decisions that support both short-term delivery and long-term scalability
Qualification
Required
8+ years of software engineering experience, with several years in a senior leadership role
Experience leading engineering teams on complex, customer-facing products
Strong partnership experience with Product, DevOps, QA, and Security
Ability to think strategically while staying close to execution
Clear communicator who can align technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
SaaS or platform experience
Working in the banking, credit union, or payments industry
Background scaling both teams and products over time
