Responsibilities

Investigate and evaluate the root cause and extent of failures and damage to electrical systems, components, and devices in residential, commercial, and industrial settings

Qualification

Required

Licensed P.E. in TX or eligible by reciprocity. Additional active licensures in surrounding states are highly desirable
5-10 years of experience designing or working with electrical systems in various settings
Experience conducting forensic investigations of electrical failures, fires, and explosions
Expert witness experience including depositions and trial testimony
Strong technical writing skills for authoring comprehensive forensic reports
Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Proficiency with computers, cameras, and industry-related software applications
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or restrictions
Must be willing and able to work in confined spaces, roofs, and industrial settings
Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required

Preferred

At least 5 years of forensic engineering experience strongly preferred
CFEI (NAFI), CFI, or other relevant certifications preferred
NCEES Record preferred for multi-state licensing
Master of Science or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is highly desirable
