Responsibilities
Perform a variety of maintenance and engineering duties including maintaining, repairing, operating, and renovating plant and facilities for the Facilities Services Department
Receive guidance and instruction from the Master or Senior Mechanic
On evenings and weekends, take direction from the Plant Operating Technician
Give direction and guidance to the Maintenance Mechanic I or others as assigned by the Facilities Services Manager
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of two (2) years of trade school or work experience as listed below
Minimum of five (5) years as a Maintenance Mechanic in a similar sized health care institution in engineering discipline
A demonstrated skill in one trade and basic understanding of other trades acquired through similar on-the-job training
Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally
In depth knowledge of all applicable OSHA standards i.e.: Right to Know, Lock out Tag out, and Ladder safety, and other standards that may apply
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations required
Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communicate with staff and management
Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines required
Valid PA driver's license required for travel to various Allied facilities
Ability and willingness to work in a manner that will not needlessly endanger the safety of themselves, others and equipment required
