Responsibilities
With direction, source and purchase plumbing, HVAC, and electrical products from suppliers, ensuring the best quality, prices and terms
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and sales reps
Maintain optimal stock levels, avoiding overstock or stockouts
Confirm purchase orders for receipt, accuracy, and pricing
Reach out to vendors about open backorders to get updated estimated ship dates
Assist with reports and data gathering for product cross and/or vendor comparison. Solid Microsoft Excel knowledge is essential
Qualification
Required
Experience in purchasing or within the plumbing, HVAC, or electrical supply industries
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Solid Microsoft Excel knowledge
Attention to detail
Excellent organizational abilities
Sound math skills
Reasoning and logic skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with ERP software or purchasing software
Familiarity with inventory management, supply chain processes, and industry-specific products within plumbing, electrical, or HVAC
Preferred
A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
3-5 years of purchasing experience
3-5 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, or electrical supply industry in lieu of a degree
Experience with Eclipse ERP
