Engineering Manager
TAI is a full-service, multi-disciplinary engineering and construction firm seeking a Regional Engineering Manager for their Dallas market. This role involves leading regional operations and driving business development across industrial, life sciences, and manufacturing sectors while ensuring quality standards and managing engineering projects.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of TAI’s engineering operations in the DFW region
You will focus on developing business, building multidiscipline engineering teams and capabilities, managing projects/project teams, and serving as subject matter expert on key projects throughout the company
You will help grow the practice in a dynamic and profitable manner based on TAI’s core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service
Leadership and management of regional engineering operations
Accountable for overall performance of regional engineering operations
Coordination with executive management for regional office planning, budgeting, operations and performance reviews
Coordination with executive management for strategic planning, growth, and hiring strategy for regional engineering operations
Ensure quality standards, budget adherence, and timely delivery of all engineering projects assigned to the regional office
Coordination of engineering operations and resources with other offices
Coordination with other TAI business units (all offices)
Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training engineering and design team members
Organize office events, team-building activities, and employee engagement initiatives
Responsible for compliance with corporate policies and procedures
Responsible for compliance with corporate engineering and design standards
Collaborate with the business development team to support and execute sales initiatives within the region
Assist with business development for all TAI capabilities and service lines
Lead or support proposal development
Assist in the development of a long-term strategic plan for growth and sustainability of the regional office
Accountable for engineering proposal development as it relates to pricing, liability, risk, and market competitiveness for the regional office
Develop relationships with other consultants to build possible teaming arrangements for large pursuits
Manage relationships of existing clients to promote maintenance and growth of those relationships
Conduct site visits to scope out projects as needed
Support the development and delivery of proposal presentations, participate in client interviews, and assist with contract negotiations as needed
Provide account and project management support for key account projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering Licensure in the region (Texas preferred)
Minimum 12 years of applicable consulting experience or industry experience utilizing consultants. Applicable experience includes developing construction documents for chemical, industrial, life sciences, and manufacturing facilities with significant expertise in at least one of the core industries served by TAI
Minimum 5 years of applicable experience managing multidiscipline projects, including collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, conducting quality control reviews, and coordinating interdisciplinary efforts
Minimum 3 years of engineering management experience, including supervision and leadership of employees and engineering activities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good customer relation skills, a positive work attitude, and willingness to learn new skills
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Entrepreneurial spirit with the proven ability to help grow and develop business
Ability to perform field work that will include walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders
Willingness to travel to client sites within the Dallas region and occasionally across the U.S
Candidates shall be proficient with the following software: Microsoft Office – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam Revu
