Responsibilities
Support over 1,200 city-owned and operated vehicles and equipment
Work on passenger vehicles, Police vehicles, heavy trucks, motorcycles, and equipment
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Vocational/technical training or coursework in electronics, communication equipment, and systems or communication theory
3 years of experience as a skilled automotive mechanic, including some experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty construction equipment
A/C Refrigerant Recovery Certification
ASE Certification
Must possess a complete set of mechanical hand tools
A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Class B Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of hire or promotion
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
