Administrative Assistant Intern

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant Intern to join their team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in administrative support and office management within a non-profit organization.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including answering phones, managing emails, and handling correspondence
Organize and maintain files, records, and documents, both physical and digital
Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations as needed
Support the planning and execution of Chamber events, meetings, and workshops
Assist with event registration, setup, and logistics
Coordinate with vendors, attendees, and sponsors as required
Help maintain the membership database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
Assist with member communications, including newsletters, announcements, and invitations
Respond to member inquiries and provide excellent customer service
Monitor and order office supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
Maintain a clean and organized office environment
Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, such as processing invoices and expense reports
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned
Conduct research and gather data to support Chamber programs and initiatives
Collaborate with team members to achieve organizational goals

Required

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Business Administration, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Reliable transportation
Ability to communicate effectively with clients in-person and through phone
