BI Project Manager II

Parkland is a healthcare organization seeking a BI Project Manager II to assist in developing and modifying data information and presentation solutions. The role involves coordinating data solutions, managing customer inquiries, and improving work processes to support evidence-based decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, assists with the formulation and definition of system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify simple information systems
Assists with the preparation of detailed specifications from which programs will be written
Assists with designing, coding, testing, debugging of documents and maintains programs
Prepares test conditions and conducts program testing to validate that the system works per specifications
Carries out maintenance tasks on assigned programs/systems with assistance from senior personnel when necessary
Assists with the response to customer concerns and requests, with the assistance of senior personnel when necessary
Documents each step of system maintenance to ensure adequate communication within the team and customers
Actively provides prompt responses to customer problems and inquiries. Makes the customers experience the first priority in all operations. Collaborates with business partners and cross functional teams to learn business processes and capture requirements relative to proposed solutions
Resolves incidents and requests independently within SLA timelines. Take ownership and resolve complicated/code intensive incidents and requests
Uses diplomacy to handle conflict with peers, without allowing personal feelings to influence or impact the outcome negatively. Respects, shares and cooperates with fellow teammates and acts with Integrity
Follows all department procedures (Weekly Status Reports, Customer Delivery, Customer Communications, Request Creation, etc.)
Has a healthy work ethic, by taking ownership for work assigned, finding solutions, and overcoming obstacles. Is accountable, and has a responsible attitude, works with a sense of urgency, and is relentless in the pursuit of excellence. Takes pride in a job well done, checking for completeness and accuracy

Assists with the maintenance of appropriate program and system documentation in accordance with department standards. Assists other staff with the creation and maintenance of technical specifications and documentation of all programs and applications supported in order to ensure quality of information
Assists senior personnel to define and document business needs and determine the manner in which alternative solutions are identified, communicated to and approved by clients
Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of Information Technology (IT) by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and meeting with other IT professionals to ensure the latest technology is available and appropriately used at Parkland. Accepts direction from more senior analysts and team leader and works to improve technical and professional skills through contact and interaction with other IT professionals. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices

Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding

Required

Associate's degree in Technology, Public Health or Healthcare Administration required. Must have a strong desire to work in Healthcare Information Technology
Two (2) years of experience as an analyst working as a team member in a project environment applying Agile or Waterfall methodologies as part of the project delivery
Two (2) years of experience working with an integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) application, within a healthcare organization
Familiarity with Office products or project tracking software
Gathers requirements or system specifications and decision flows, in the form of flow charts or equivalent techniques, from written business requirements
Can demonstrate translating those designs into technical products, using fundaments of database design and structure
Effective communication is a must. Qualified candidates must show the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with technical and business peers
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, and problem solving with regard to design and development of technical applications
Advanced skills using Microsoft tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
Accepts verbal and/or written direction from senior staff and to accomplish projects and tasks
Qualified candidates will have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, and will demonstrate excellent analytical, organization and prioritization skills
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to interact effectively with customers, team members and clients within Parkland Health
Comfortable working autonomously in the healthcare space needing little guidance
Ability to work as part of a centralized or in a federated team environment towards common goals
Can demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a remote environment
Independent worker and self-starter, having the ability to provide internal motivation and drive
Sets high standards of performance for self
Must demonstrate honesty, humility, and be trustworthy

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
PMP or Project Management certificate a plus
Epic application and/or Cogito proficiency or certification preferred
PMP preferred
Experience demonstrating systems analysis, IT, or programming skills are a plus
