Marketing Communications Coordinator
CENTRO, INC. is focused on enhancing public transportation in Central New York. As the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, you will create visual and written content to engage the community, manage digital communications, and represent the organization at local events.

Responsibilities
Create compelling visual content — design graphics, layouts, and multimedia assets for social media, advertising, print materials, service campaigns, and corporate branding
Produce engaging video content — shoot, edit, and enhance videos for digital platforms, rider education, and promotional initiatives
Write and edit clear, impactful copy — support announcements, internal communications, press materials, and customer-facing messaging
Help inform the community — distribute service updates, support outreach initiatives, and build relationships with local organizations and advocacy groups
Manage digital communications — create and post system-wide alerts, text notifications, and website/intranet content using Centro’s CMS and communications tools
Support community events — represent Centro at local events, meetings, and public engagement activities
Collaborate across departments — work directly with colleagues throughout the Authority to support marketing needs and ensure brand consistency
Assist with other marketing and communications projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
Relevant experience may be considered as a substitution for required education
Experience with social media platforms, digital storytelling, and electronic communications
Familiarity with web content management systems (CMS)
Strong skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator; Premiere Pro a plus) and Canva
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent writing, editing, communication, and presentation abilities
Comfort interacting with the public and representing the organization professionally
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities
Social media marketing: 2 years (Required)
Digital Communication: 2 years (Required)
Ability to Commute: Syracuse, NY 13202 (Required)
Preferred
Knowledge of Centro services and local bus routes is a plus — but not required
