Quality Manager

INTREN, LLC is seeking a Quality Manager responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role focuses on ensuring compliance with contract requirements and industry standards while providing field-level quality leadership and support to construction teams.

Responsibilities

Implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in accordance with INTREN and Customer requirements
Develop, maintain, and implement site-specific Quality Plans that align corporate QMS requirements with project scope, execution strategy, and Customer expectations
Develop, maintain, and enforce Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) aligned with project scope
Support material submittals and RFIs as a quality subject matter expert, ensuring materials, technical clarifications, and field execution remain aligned with contract requirements and project intent
Partner with Operations and Field leadership to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood prior to work execution
Participate in pre-construction and pre-activity planning to embed quality expectations upfront and eliminate downstream risk
Align quality planning with construction sequencing to support efficient and uninterrupted field execution
Oversight of scheduled and unscheduled field inspections to verify work complies with: Approved drawings and specifications, Contract documents, Applicable codes and standards
Verify workface readiness prior to major activities in coordination with the Construction Manager and Superintendent
Identify quality risks early and communicate recommended corrective actions before work proceeds or impacts productivity
Exercise stop-work authority only when necessary to prevent non-conforming installation, prioritizing corrective guidance and coordination whenever possible to avoid disruption
Identify, document, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in a timely and professional manner
Coordinate corrective actions collaboratively with the Construction Manager, Superintendent, and Project Team
Track NCR resolution to closure and verify corrective measures are effective
Support root-cause analysis with a focus on process improvement and prevention, not fault assignment
Maintain accurate and complete quality records including: Inspection reports, Test results, Redlines and as-builts, Material certifications and compliance documentation
Ensure documentation is organized, current, and turnover-ready throughout the project lifecycle
Support project closeout activities and Customer turnover requirements
Serve as the primary quality point of contact for the project
Interface professionally with Customer quality representatives during inspections, audits, and walkdowns
Communicate quality expectations clearly and consistently to field leadership and crews
Provide timely reporting of quality trends, risks, and metrics to Project and Operations leadership
Escalate issues early with recommended solutions that balance quality compliance with schedule and production needs
Establish and reinforce a quality culture that integrates right-first-time execution into safe, efficient, and disciplined project delivery
Coach and mentor field personnel on quality expectations, installation standards, and best practices
Identify recurring issues and recommend practical process improvements
Support training initiatives related to quality, inspections, documentation, and Customer expectations

Required

5–10 years of experience in utility, civil, or electrical infrastructure construction
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing site-specific Quality Plans on active construction projects
Strong understanding of: Underground electrical distribution (duct bank, manholes, encasement, grounding, etc.) and Construction quality systems and inspection processes
Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
Experience working with General Contractors and EPC or owner-driven projects preferred
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with project documentation systems a plus
