Electrical Engineer

Whippany Actuation Systems is a fast-paced and innovative aerospace manufacturer specializing in electromechanical actuators for both commercial and military applications. They are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to manage all electronics aspects of various technical projects throughout the lifecycle of custom electro-mechanical actuation solutions.

Responsibilities

Review customer specifications, develop technical requirements, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards and policies
Design and analyze electrical systems, including mixed-signal, analog, and digital circuits, schematics, and component selection
Perform worst-case, stress, and failure mode analyses; verify circuits using tools such as PSpice and ORCAD
Develop and apply power electronics and motor modeling to support design and performance needs
Oversee prototype builds, support verification and validation test plans, and lead troubleshooting activities
Ensure designs meet functional, environmental, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition new products into production and support program management, certification, and customer needs
Engage directly with customers and suppliers to interpret requirements, provide technical support, and foster strong relationships
Manage schedules and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Communicate effectively across teams and prepare technical documentation and customer reports
Travel occasionally, domestic or international, for customer visits and industry meetings

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college
3 years' engineering experience working in a high technology manufacturing environment
Ability to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 10%
Authorization to work in the US

Preferred

Master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
Experience designing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies and components
Knowledge of environmental testing in accordance with military and aerospace specifications
Familiarity with DOORS requirement management software
Familiarity with aerospace and MIL specifications
Familiarity with aerospace grade electronic circuit card design
