CHEManager International is seeking a Research Associate for the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER). The Research Associate will collaborate with the research team on various projects, produce content, and deliver educational programs while also managing student internship programs.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with AIER's Research Team on new and ongoing research projects, in producing AIER's content, and in delivering educational programs

Work on literature reviews, data collection and analysis, drafting of articles and reports, and the many miscellaneous questions that arise during AIER's research

Work on short- and long-term projects including writing for the AIER website, articles for academic publication, working on research reports, and presentations at conferences

Operate the Student Internship and Graduate-Fellowship programs at AIER, supervising undergraduate research projects, managing the delivery of the academic curriculum, lecturing within that curriculum, and facilitating reading discussions and workshops

Provide direct onsite mentoring to participants in the Student Internship and Graduate-Fellowship programs

Conduct independent research and writing projects that align with AIER's mission under the supervision of the Faculty

Required

Minimum of Master's degree in Economics, PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics) or a closely related field (preferably direct post-graduate economics training)

Intellectual curiosity, a love of economics, and a desire to continually learn

Skills and demonstrated ability to manage and engage with student participants

Skill and demonstrated ability in researching and writing for both academic and popular-press forums

Basic/intermediate skills in Excel

Basic skills in STATA, or another statistical package, or willingness to learn

High work ethic and the ability to drive forward a product and process without micro-management

Excellent digital communication skills

Excellent interpersonal communication skills

An understanding of the classical liberal scholarly tradition and ideas, particularly as it pertains to economic questions
