Responsibilities
Selects and hires employees according to Wellstars established guidelines, while monitoring, coaching, developing, and evaluating performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with Wellstars performance standards
Supports effective orientation and onboarding of new staff
Proactively establishes a healthy workplace by reducing or resolving unnecessary conflict (when necessary, partnering with Human Resources), and promotes achievement of positive team dynamics
Cultivates a relationship of mutual respect and trust with providers and staff. Creates opportunities for self and leaders/staff to grow professionally and implements a desirable workplace to recruit and retain talented leaders and staff
Adheres to Wellstar Health Systems policies and procedures regarding overall human resource management and consistently applies such policies and procedures
Engages staff in shared decision-making processes and partners with others to promote relationship-based care delivery systems that support patient centered care and service excellence, while effectively providing leadership and management for a specific practice/s
Analyzes and manages financial resources; uses lean and other quality skills to reduce waste and improve performance of operations and clinical systems of care; integrates marketing and communication strategies to advance ones practice/s and organization as a whole
Designs and implements systems to manage and measure outcomes to achieve expected business and clinical goals and objectives for self, staff, and practice performance
Develops operational budget and manages it to target level performance or better
Oversees and promotes staff competencies in safe and quality care delivery
Maintains self-competencies to assist with direct patient care, when needed
Holds self and staff to the highest professional standards and ethics. Is an active member of ones professional community and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice and nursing leadership
Works collaboratively with nursing, quality, infection prevention, population health and other departments to improve safety and quality outcomes
Participates in committees and workgroups to promote processes that support care coordination across the continuum for optimal patient outcomes; disease management, health maintenance, transition of care/discharge processes, etc
Embraces and influences patient experience principles and best practices. Responsible for meeting patient experience goals through operational effectiveness, patient follow-up, and standardization of processes
Successfully employs change management strategies and instills in self and others the curiosity to explore new knowledge and ideas
Seeks out opportunities to network and enhance ambulatory practice management knowledge base and knowledge of healthcare trends
Exhibits professionalism in dress, style and manner
Represents the organization positively to the community, building credibility and willingness to serve on committees and task forces as needed to share knowledge and skill
Understands, supports and communicates to the practice/s the Wellstar Health System vision, strategic and business plan
Aligns practice goals with organizations mission to ensure outstanding quality and service
Creates the culture needed to carry out the strategic objectives and organizational goals related to quality and service. Serves as a key stakeholder for system and local initiatives that impact the patient across the care continuum
Identifies opportunities for continuous growth via patient access, operational workflows, and patient outcomes
Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research and performance improvement in delivery of care across the continuum
Effectively identifies areas of risk and proactively works to ensure compliance and safety standards. This includes assuring service meets or exceeds licensure, regulatory and accreditation standards
Applies the effective use of data and evidence to support decision-making for clinical and operational responsibilities and demonstrates awareness of legal and ethical issues related to patient and staff data, information and confidentiality
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in nursing
Master's Degree in nursing, business or healthcare related field of study from an accredited university
RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Georgia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in nursing management or supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building
Knowledge of the health care environment
Leadership skills including successfully implementing and managing a change process
Ability to use systems thinking and inspire, coach others to be successful
Model the way for professional practice
Professionalism and teamwork/collaboration for self/department/medical staff and advanced practice providers
Necessary business skills to manage human and material resources
Ability to manage a varied generational and diverse leadership team and workforce
Continuous learner who understands health care financing, strategy and operations for running a business practice(s)
Effectively employ data and technology to support work processes and make decisions
Supports shared decision-making
Manages the design and delivery of care that is based on evidence and focused on quality and safety
Knowledge of risk management and various accreditation/regulations/licensing requirements
Ability to motivate and develop staff
Collaborate with physicians
Maintain positive patient interactions
Professional-level computer skills and advanced experience with Microsoft Office
