Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will perform ongoing facility maintenance, complete repairs on equipment, and ensure safety standards are met while collaborating with the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

Perform basic equipment diagnosis for both electrical & mechanical issues
Must have an understanding and experience in all phases of 110-480 volt system with higher voltage experience preferred
Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and detect minor equipment problems and correct them before they become major issues
Disassemble/reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc. and repair/replace worn or defective parts
Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems and install wiring systems for power and control
Troubleshoot, install, and repair ac/dc motors, starters, relays and drives
Welding and machining experience
Install new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints, and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs
Perform preventive maintenance per planned schedules. Clean and lubricate machinery. Inspect equipment operating conditions. Identify root causes of equipment problems

Required

High school diploma or equivalent, and graduate of an industrial apprenticeship program or 2-year technical school
Minimum 3 years of industrial experience, or a minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance/mechanic in an industrial manufacturing facility
Ability and tolerance to frequently lift and move heavy objects, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, and moving objects weighing up to 60 pounds
Must be able to frequently tolerate repetitive movement including sitting, standing, balancing, climbing, walking, twisting, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching
Exposure to working outside in extreme weather conditions; cold in the winter and extreme heat in the summer
Tolerance to moderate noise levels
Ability to talk, hear, read, and understand verbal and written communications and carry out job tasks safely around heavy rolling equipment
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and fine motor skills to handle and manipulate materials
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
