Confidential is a busy and thriving personal injury firm located in Midtown Manhattan seeking to expand its office support staff. The qualified candidate will perform paralegal duties while supervising the litigation department and managing the office's day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

Computer savvy candidate(s) who are proficient with all Microsoft Office applications. AI experience preferred but not required
Must have experience and working knowledge of electronic filing requirements in State and Federal Courts, including ability to use E-Law and E-Courts
Must be diligent about inputting and updating information in our case file database
Note: while we are busy, the workload is generally manageable; we offer an exceptional work-life balance; however, there may be (infrequent) times when extra work is necessary to prepare for a trial
A bi-lingual (English/Spanish) candidate is preferred
We are looking for an organized and extremely efficient Office Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the office who will supervise support staff and aid attorneys by managing discovery in litigation matters – from initiation of lawsuits through to trial and verdict
The Office Manager will delegate, supervise, and follow-up on all litigation-related tasks to ensure that all deadlines are met
By constantly updating the information in the case file database, our Office Manager ensures that all of the litigation is moving forward properly
The Office Manager will regularly communicate with our team, our clients, adversaries, and the Courts
Candidate will support a team of busy, but very nice, attorneys
Our Paralegal will assure compliance with discovery demands and Court Orders relating to discovery; e, drafting of discovery documents – Summons and Complaints, Bill of Particulars, (simple) Motions and Responses; Demands, Authorizations, etc
Ideally, the candidate will also have knowledge of trial preparation including drafting and serving of subpoenas, Notice of Intention to use diagnostic films, etc
Candidate will maintain accurate, detailed, and timely entry of all case-related Court appearances, meetings, depositions, hearings, trial dates, and hearings. This will require constant contact with our lawyers, per diem counsel, clients, adversaries, reporting and interpreting services, to confirm agreed-upon deposition and appearance dates, times, and locations
Must stay up to date with New York civil litigation – and specific IAS Part - Court rules, procedures, e-calendar technology

Required

Previous experience running a plaintiff's PI firm
Experience and working knowledge of electronic filing requirements in State and Federal Courts
Ability to use E-Law and E-Courts
Diligent about inputting and updating information in our case file database
Organized and extremely efficient Office Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the office
Supervise support staff and aid attorneys by managing discovery in litigation matters
Delegate, supervise, and follow-up on all litigation-related tasks to ensure that all deadlines are met
Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely entry of all case-related Court appearances, meetings, depositions, hearings, trial dates, and hearings
Stay up to date with New York civil litigation and specific IAS Part - Court rules, procedures, e-calendar technology
Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent
Relevant Work Experience: minimum of 4-5 years in the field of Personal Injury (preferably, plaintiff-side)
Personal Injury Law: 2 years (Required)
Microsoft Office: 2 years (Required)
