FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN - Utility Billing
City of Lawrence, KS is seeking a Financial Technician for the Finance Department. This position performs highly responsible customer service and accounting clerical work, providing support for Utility accounts and Solid Waste operations in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities
This position provides front-line customer service for City of Lawrence Utility accounts and Solid Waste operations
It assists with clerical work and maintains confidential records in support of billing City of Lawrence Utility accounts
This is a fast-paced office environment with high call volume
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade is required
A minimum of six months of experience or training in customer service and cash handling
This position requires previous customer service and computer experience
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
Strong communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Trustworthiness
Ability to keep up with the fast-paced setting
The successful candidate must pass a background check and post-offer physical and drug screen
Preferred
Previous billing or accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
