Responsibilities

Be responsible for LAN design, installation, administration, and maintenance

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network problems and performance issues

Be responsible for the setup and maintenance of security settings on workstations and switches; maintain antivirus software, firewalls, switch port security, and strong password policies

Maintain the Storage Area Network

Monitor network traffic for suspicious behavior

Install, administer, and troubleshoot network security solutions

Create network policies and authorization roles, and defend against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction

Assist with internal and external security audits

Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities

Conduct and coordinate security training for staff

Write and present project proposals for department's needs

Coordinate project needs and requirements with appropriate departments and outside contractors

Coordinate with the Network Manager and distributors/suppliers to organize purchasing accounts for equipment and parts

Keep technical aspects of the department organized, and ensure accurate filing for all projects, equipment acquisitions, pricing, warranty information, etc

Required

At least five years of related experience

Strong understanding and knowledge of computer, network, and security systems

Ability to use hand tools and specialty electronic tools for the repair and installation of equipment

Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 41-50 pounds

Preferred

An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Network Administration, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field preferred; commensurate work experience will be considered

Certification in CompTIA Network+ and Security+ is preferred

Knowledge of Extreme Networking is a plus
