Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare environment
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents
Observe and report any unusual activity, property damage, or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel
Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and granting access as required
Support emergency response efforts by following established protocols and assisting first responders as needed
Complete detailed and accurate reports on security-related incidents, observations, and daily activities
Provide directions and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed to support a welcoming environment
Qualification
Required
A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located
A New York State Security Guard License is required
At least six months of security-related experience is required
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
