HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT (Admin Office Spec III)

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking a Human Resource Assistant to provide administrative support within a fast-paced environment. The role involves assisting with HR functions such as recruitment, records management, and maintaining HR databases.

Responsibilities

Provides administrative support to Human Resources in a fast-paced environment while performing specific duties requiring attention to detail and to meet deadlines
Assists with HR in various areas such as recruitment, supply management, records and file management as well as providing administrative support to the CHRO
Utilizes and may maintain various HR databases for assigned transactions within Human Resources

Required

Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Knowledge of basic HR functions (onboarding, personnel files, scheduling, recordkeeping)
Working knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of human resources and filing systems
Considerable knowledge and skill in office organization, keyboarding and the use of Microsoft Suite software
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; to use independent judgment to plan and accomplish tasks; and to initiate and maintain automated HR recordkeeping systems, including web-based applications
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, information and documentation
Ability to be able to multi-task with multiple stimuli
Experience providing clerical and administrative support within a Human Resources department
Experience with HR functions (onboarding, personnel files, scheduling, recordkeeping)
Experience with office organization, filing and records management systems (paper and electronic)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS, including email and document applications
Experience with time management and meeting deadlines
Experience processing release of information requests in compliance with privacy policies

Preferred

Additional experience and/or training related to records management, data systems, and human resources practices
Experience developing spreadsheets and reports for tracking and monitoring
Experience using Cardinal HCM application
