Responsibilities
Work with the Project Superintendent to manage field operations
Coordinate, schedule and manage subcontractors and vendors, expedite the work on a daily and weekly basis
Identify and resolve construction problems as they develop
Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost records
Supervise work and develop alternative construction methods for job efficiency
Manage material receiving - ensure that material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed, coded and filed accordingly
Help the Project Superintendent comply with all jobsite reporting requirements, including daily reports, field orders, weekly updates to the 'two-week look-ahead' and monthly updates to the construction schedule
Familiarize yourself with shop drawing and submittals and help project managers comply with the submittal schedule, contract documents and company reporting requirements
Attend required jobsite meetings
Maintain safety standards - safety planning is to be included in all pre-job planning and considered foremost in the daily operations
Maintain quality consistent with the company standards
Close out the project in compliance with the contract documents and company requirements
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelors' Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering with 3-5 years' experience in the construction field/ mixed use
Understands building plans and specs
Safety standards knowledge and enforcement
Self-starter with ability to set goals and tasks with strong leadership skills
Ability to safely navigate a construction site which will include the following: climbing ladders and stairs, use of job hoists, inclement weather conditions, hazardous/cluttered and dark areas
Preferred
NYC High-rise residential experience a plus
NYCHA/ Tenant in place renovations experience a plus
NYC affordable housing experience a plus
