National Account Executive

Responsibilities

Own and grow relationships with assigned national accounts
Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring clear, timely, and consistent communication
Meet with customers quarterly (or more often as needed) to align on goals, performance, and opportunities
Deliver against revenue goals for assigned accounts
Identify opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and expand into additional categories or buyers
Prospect and develop new national accounts within defined channels
Build and execute strategic account plans in partnership with internal teams
Lead contract negotiations, pricing agreements, and terms
Partner with credit and collections to resolve discrepancies and prevent chargebacks
Ensure agreements meet both customer expectations and company objectives
Maintain clean, accurate, and accessible account records and documentation
Track purchase orders, forecasts, and sales performance by account and SKU
Coordinate closely with account coordinators, order management, and internal partners to ensure flawless execution
Proactively resolve issues and act as the bridge between customers and internal teams
Manage special customer requirements including EDI, labeling, pallet specs, ship/cancel dates, and invoicing needs
Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and performance metrics to assess account health
Prepare forecasts and provide regular reporting to leadership
Share market insights to support product development and marketing strategies
Stay current on product launches, industry trends, and competitive activity
Travel to customer meetings and trade shows as directed

Required

5+ years of B2B sales experience, with direct responsibility for Key and/or National Accounts
Experience in grocery channel and custom product development
Strong understanding of complex account sales processes and national retail environments
Experience working with EDI, customer POS systems, CRM/sales force automation tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Understanding of distribution strategies and margin-driven decision making
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving business environment
Strong presentation, negotiation, forecasting, and decision-making skills

Preferred

Experience in consumer products, gift, decorative accessories, or CPG
Experience working with offshore manufacturing or supply chain teams
