Responsibilities
Answer and route incoming calls promptly and professionally
Maintain patient charts, physician correspondence, and office inventory
Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorizations
Coordinate dialysis treatments and transportation for patients as needed
Ensure timely communication of results to referring physicians and facilities
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, faxing, and data entry
Build and maintain relationships with physician offices, hospitals, and dialysis clinics to expand the referral network
Develop and implement marketing campaigns and educational presentations to promote ASC services
Act as a liaison between healthcare providers and ASC staff to address referral-related inquiries
Track referral trends, outcomes, and follow-up actions for each dialysis unit
Collaborate with ASC and dialysis unit teams to coordinate and process patient referrals
Ensure all referral activities comply with company policies and healthcare regulations
Participate in community education and outreach events
Perform other duties as required
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in medical billing, patient access, marketing, or customer service
Experience with insurance verification, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial payors
Familiarity with obtaining pre-authorizations and managing referrals
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and healthcare databases/software
Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and follow through
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
Preferred
