Human Resources Coordinator

Charles River Recovery is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support their business unit by implementing human resources strategies and initiatives. The role involves building relationships with management and employees, providing guidance on employment law, and managing performance and employee relations issues.

Responsibilities

Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assisting in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; assists with the preparation and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
Responsible for oversight of payroll and related items
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs
May monitor the performance evaluation program and revise as necessary
Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees
Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory
Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment benefit laws and regulations
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department

Required

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
3+ years' experience working in the HR field
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS and payroll databases
Comfortable using a broad range of communication styles, and ability to choose appropriate, effective ways to communicate to different audiences
Understands all aspects of the practice of human resources to help determine which questions need answering and the ability to respond to those questions
Upholds personal and professional ethics and values, taking into account the values of Charles River Recovery and respecting the culture, beliefs and abilities of individuals
Sets high standards and objectives
Demonstrates concern for meeting internal and external customers' needs in a manner that provides satisfaction for the customer within the resources that can be made available
May work in a variety of environments including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected

Preferred

SHRM certified professional or other HR field certification preferred
