Responsibilities

Responsible for the oversight and coordination of the quality and patient safety program for North Memorial Health hospitals and clinics
Facilitates an atmosphere of interactive management and develops relationships among clinical and operational professionals, risk management, and administration
This position has emphasis on the management of quality improvement and patient safety, including, but not limited to: incident reporting system oversight, patient experience, prevention of adverse health events, root cause analysis and action planning, incident data trending and improvement, endorses and improves a strong patient safety culture, supports the organizational framework for quality management system (QMS), and collaborates with medical staff on provider quality and peer review
The Quality and Patient Safety Manager coordinates the operations of one or more defined areas in the Quality Department
The manager is accountable to the System Quality Director and supports, facilitates, role models, and operationalizes the mission, vision and values of North Memorial Health

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare, business or related field required
Three to five years' experience in quality and customer safety
Two years leadership experience
Demonstrated verbal, written and formal presentation skills
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, supervision, problem solving, conflict resolution and change management
Management and leadership of Root Cause Analysis process that identifies issues and builds corrective action that improves care and supports accountability
Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form), clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience
Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner. Has an awareness of, responds to, and considers the needs, feelings and capabilities of others
Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations
Effective leader with strategic orientation; superior judgment and disciplined decision-making approach, analytical, problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Excellent planning, organizational, project, time management, multi-tasking, prioritizing, oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach and ability to establish rapport quickly and collaborate effectively
Effective in meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction, team member engagement, departmental/hospital performance and quality goals
Ability to build, maintain and manage relationships and partnerships within departments & industry
Initiative and versatility in partnering with internal customers/team members and external partners to identify performance gaps and develop integrated solutions
Self-starter; highly motivated with the ability to work independently and/or collaboratively
Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
Solid PC skills to include MS applications, Internet, etc
Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English

Preferred

Masters in a healthcare, business or related field preferred
