Responsibilities

Assesses patients prior to, during, and after procedures that have been ordered according to Imaging Services/ Departmental Guidelines
Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System)
Positions patients to obtain quality images
Performs IV contrast injections, urinary catheterizations, and/or other procedures as required
Utilizes RIS (Radiology Information System) and electronic medical records
Train students and staff as assigned
May be cross trained on laboratory phlebotomy and operate laboratory waive testing equipment according to CLIA regulations
May be trained to perform EKGs

Qualification

Registered Radiologic TechnologistVirginia state licenseAHA BLS-HCPComputed Radiography (CR)Digital Radiography (DR)Picture Archive Communication System (PACS)Radiology Information System (RIS)Effective communicationTeamwork skills

Required

Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry required
Virginia state license required
AHA BLS-HCP required
Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
