The role involves overseeing mechanical design throughout a project's life cycle and working closely with engineering and project management teams.

Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate activities of team to ensure quality and schedule commitments are met
Analysis of mechanical components, using in-house tools or developing calculations as necessary
Documentation for proposals (as-required), technical reports, and customer O&M manuals
Review and approval of mechanical drawings to ensure contractual and internal requirements are met
Creation of engineering instructions that define technical requirements for manufacturing , installation and testing
Disposition of non-conformances during manufacturing and installation
Review and analysis of site data and testing
Creation of engineering documentation supported by designers and drafters
Lead design reviews with the aid of the technical subject matter experts
Optimization of hydro generator mechanical design, for contracts and studies
Provide support manufacturing, workshop testing, installation and commissioning of systems
Participate in problem solving and root cause identification
Participate in the planning of engineering activities related to the portfolio of projects on which he/she is assigned and report progress to internal project team
Qualification
Required
8+ years Engineering experience with 3+ years in a leadership or project management role
Knowledge of contracts and ability to read and understand contracts requiring close attention to detail
3 years' experience in resource planning and budgeting
Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity
Ability to work with people in a diverse team environment
Manufacturing experience (welding, machining and/or casting) and site experience is a plus
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Solutions focused while managing the needs of both internal and external customers
Excellent written and oral communication abilities
Ability to use CAD (Siemens NX preferred)
Knowledge of MS Office suite, and relevant IT tools
10-15% travel domestically and abroad as required
