Responsibilities
Orienting, monitoring, and leading children in literacy, science, social studies and STEAM enrichment activities
Demonstrating a command of the subjects being taught
Sustaining positive audience engagement (youth, adults, and seniors)
Presenting specifically designed curriculum aligned with academic standards for K-12 level education
Ensuring smooth transitions and the safety of participants from one activity to another
Communicating all issues and concerns with supervisor
Participating in professional growth and learning opportunities
Exhibiting a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and the interpersonal skills to collaborate and engage well with a broad spectrum of ages, cultures, and languages, including interactions with the general public
Leading educational programs for up to 30 people of various age groups (youth, adults, and seniors)
Attending outreach events to promote upcoming programs and educating the public about the mission of Building Brains Anywhere
Delivering ad hoc tours and answering questions from the general public
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in science, history, environmental science, education, childcare, or closely related field
One year of experience working in a professional elementary/middle/high school or college level educational setting, summer camp program, museum, or historic site
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
Valid Driver's license
Ability to pass a 50-pound lift test
Ability to work some evenings and weekends
CPR and First Aid certification (must be completed within first 45 days of employment)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in science, history, environmental science, education, childcare, or closely related field
Two years of experience working in a professional elementary/middle/high school or college level educational setting, summer camp program, museum, or historic site
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
