Lead, Regulatory Internal Audit

Freeport LNG is responsible for implementing the Freeport LNG Internal Regulatory Audit Program. The Lead, Regulatory Internal Audit ensures compliance with environmental codes and regulatory requirements while conducting internal audits and providing recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Implement the Regulatory Internal Audit program with applicable plans/programs/and procedures
Initiate and execute internal regulatory audit engagements, including data collection and analysis
Provide feedback (through objective assessments), recommendations, and internal reports from internal audits
Document internal audit findings including recommended corrective actions
Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations/corrective actions to completion
Consider risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
Collaborate with applicable departments to ensure compliance and audit readiness and provide support as necessary with external auditors during regulatory compliance assessments
Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding regulations, best practices and performance standards
Continually strive to streamline and improve the Regulatory Internal Audit program

Required

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
10+ years' experience in regulatory auditing, permitting, or compliance tracking in the LNG, Petrochemical, Pipeline, or other Oil & Gas industries
Ability to read and understand regulations, permits, plans and specifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High degree of communication and interpersonal skills
Must operate with the highest level of integrity, diplomacy and maintain strict confidentiality
Demonstrated professionalism, efficiency and dependability
Ability to solve practical problems with guidance
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
Efficient user of Microsoft Office
Efficiency in project and time management with a collaborative and open style
Exhibits self-sufficiency and commitment to quality
Established document control experience
Demonstrated experience in performing inspections and generating associated reports
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements of LNG, Petrochemical, Pipeline, or other Oil & Gas industries, including local, state, and federal regulations
Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions, including Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations
Ability to travel to Freeport LNG Facilities as needed (on average no more than once a week)
Valid, unexpired driver license at all times

Preferred

12+ years' experience in regulatory auditing, permitting, or compliance tracking in the LNG or Pipeline industry
