Director, Population Health Strategy

Responsibilities

Directs process improvements for the population health strategy team to achieve cost-effective healthcare results and comply with federal and state regulations to improve health and quality outcomes
Leads population health strategy team on performance, improvement, and career growth path considerations
Leads and organizes population health strategies for National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards, state, and/or other accreditations
Contributes to the evaluation of population health strategy operations to identify efficiencies in clinical and non-clinical programs
Develops long-term population health strategies and influences decisions by providing recommendations that align to organizational objectives
Develops department budget while collaborating inter-departmentally and with senior leadership team
Develops the overall strategy for onboarding, hiring, and training new population health strategy team members to ensure adequate training and high-quality care to improve care coordination and health and quality outcomes including efficiencies in programs
Works cross functionally to drive process improvements to manage costs and provide recommendations to improve health and quality outcomes
Leads, develops, and ensures clinical initiatives and/or programs are in accordance with National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines, state mandates, and/or government contract requirements
May work across multiple Line of Business and states to encompass program needs into population health strategies
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Candidates must reside in Michigan or a surrounding state and be able to accommodate up to 25% field or in-office work
Requires a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience, including prior management experience
Directs the design of population health strategy initiatives and programs to improve care coordination and health and quality outcomes including developing efficiencies in programs (clinical and non-clinical)
Oversees the effectiveness of care and develops process improvements to manage costs and to comply with federal and state regulations

Preferred

Highly preferred candidates will have experience with Utilization Management (UM), Care Management (CM) activities, cost of care initiatives, and demonstrated leadership experience
