Classroom Aide - Amherst
The Summit Center is Western New York’s leading provider of evidence-based services for children and adults with autism and other developmental challenges. The Classroom Aide supports the lead teacher and educational team by assisting with instruction, classroom tasks, and student support, requiring strong communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities
Assist in instruction and fulfillment of IEP mandates
Implement established behavior plan(s)
Assist teacher to implement and monitor individual lesson plans, data collection and charting systems
Assist in conducting classroom activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need
Assist with routine classroom functions
Maintain strict confidentiality
Assist with home-school communication
Assist with all required paperwork to be completed

Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 6 months of childcare experience
Strong communication skills
Reliability
Teamwork
Ability to work effectively with students and staff both in and outside the classroom
