Litigation Paralegal (MedMal)

They are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Paralegal to join their Litigation Practice Group focusing on Medical Malpractice, where the role involves supporting attorneys in various litigation matters from case inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing litigation cases, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring all case documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible
Discovery: Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production. Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
Legal Research: Perform legal research using standard legal research tools to support motions, briefs, and other legal documents
Document Preparation: Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, briefs, and settlement agreements under the supervision of attorneys
Court Support: Assist with trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, coordinating with witnesses, and attending court proceedings as needed
Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding case status, document collection, and general inquiries, ensuring effective and timely communication
Administrative Duties: Manage calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, depositions, and manage attorney schedules to ensure smooth workflow

Required

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, or completion of a paralegal certification program (or comparable experience)
At least 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation, civil procedure, and trial support
Exceptional organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy

Preferred

Experience with electronic discovery processes and software
Knowledge of local and state court procedures
