Responsibilities
Operates utilities plant control room
Troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates all instrumentation related to the operation
Performs field and laboratory tests for control of various utility systems requiring walking and/or standing on uneven or sloped terrain
Operates utility systems to comply with all requirements of various permits issued by the state and local regulatory agencies
Keeps accurate records and test results to comply with all requirements of various permits issued by state and local regulatory agencies
Performs shift work due to 24-hour operation including weekends and holidays
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of three (3) years in one of more of the following fields or equivalent areas: Electrical, Electronics, pump repair and maintenance, plumbing and lift station operation
Any combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position
Valid Florida Driver's license required
Demonstrated knowledge of utilities plant operation and maintenance procedures
Demonstrated knowledge of safety precautions involved in the operation and maintenance of utility systems
Demonstrate ability to keep accurate records and generate reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees, vendors, and the public
Ability to communicate effectively in English to understand and interpret instructional materials such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to respond to inquiries and write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to calculate figures, measure and apply concepts of basic algebra
Ability to deal with problems in a logical manner not to impede the Authority's operation or sacrifice safety issues
Ability to maintains a safe, healthy, and clean work area
Ability to work 24/7 schedule with a 4/10-hour day shift with overtime as needed
Ability to learn all other in-house training, practices, and policies of the Authority
