Pediatric Clinical Psychologist - Marietta, GA

They are looking for a Pediatric Clinical Psychologist to support their expanded behavioral health services for children and adolescents in the Paulding community, providing psychological testing and evidence-based therapy.

Responsibilities
Function as a clinician with up to 50% time allocated to the provision of testing and intervention services for individuals up to the age of 18
Conduct brief (and when necessary more comprehensive) psychological testing, using a variety of methods including tests of intelligence, child development, cognition (e.g., attention, executive functioning), personality (objective and projective), and social/emotional functioning
Write psychological reports and document using Wellstar’s electronic medical record (i.e. Epic)
Allocate 50% time to the provision of brief interventions using evidence-based methods
Apply cognitive-behavioral (CBT), parent-child interactive therapy, and other treatments to a heterogenous population
Consult regularly with Wellstar child/adolescent psychiatrists, therapists, pediatricians, etc
Provide intermittent clinical supervision, conduct staff trainings, and serve on committees under the Behavioral Health and Pediatric Service Line structures
Qualification
Required
a doctorate degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) in clinical psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA)
completion of an APA-accredited internship
completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in an area of Clinical Psychology
licensure or license-eligibility as a Psychologist in the State of Georgia
advanced training on internship/fellowship working with a child/adolescent population
ability to conduct brief (and when necessary more comprehensive) psychological testing
ability to apply cognitive-behavioral (CBT), parent-child interactive therapy, and other treatments to a heterogenous population
experience with an array of conditions including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum conditions, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, somatic symptom disorders, school-avoidance
advanced knowledge of risk factors related to suicidality
ability to apply evidence-based treatments to a heterogenous group of patients
ability to integrate complex quantitative and qualitative information to formulate diagnostic conceptualizations
strong communication skills – both verbally and in writing
professionalism and ability to assert him/herself effectively as a member of the Medical Staff
commitment to demonstrating and applying the contributions of psychology as a discipline
ability to cultivate strong relationships with medical colleagues and others
strong grasp of professional ethics
Preferred
active board-certification (ABPP) in Clinical Child/Adolescent Psychology within 36 months of the date of hire
