Intern, Risk & Compliance

As a Risk & Compliance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in compliance, risk management, and regulatory processes while supporting the organization's risk management framework and understanding financial laws.

Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of financial institution risk practices and methodologies
Participate in department activities and collaborate with team members and assist in maintaining and improving the organization’s risk management framework
Gain an understanding of financial laws and implementing regulations
Gain experience in business relationship management
Learn our corporate culture and basic day-to-day communication and work processes
Learn the financial industry and business needs of our members
Assist with special projects related to compliance and risk management
Support the risk assessment process by collecting, documenting, and analyzing data
Support the development of GRC system dashboards
Attend and participate in team meetings, training sessions, and contribute ideas
Perform other duties as needed

Required

Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates entering their senior year and/or previous internship experience
Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated interest in learning regulatory compliance, risk management, or financial services
Ability to work 40 hours per week for the 12-week program
Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations
