Director of Procurement

Cherokee Indian Hospital is seeking a Director of Procurement to manage a team that supports its mission and operational goals. This role involves providing strategic oversight of internal controls, contracting, and supply chains to ensure compliance and competitiveness.

Responsibilities

Create and implement internal controls, contracting and supply chain strategy aligned with organizational goals
Ensure the organizations purchases are incompliance with 2 CFR Part 200
Facilitate special purchases for CIHA as needed, ensuring timely ordering
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing as needed
Manage inventory control, distribution, and logistics for optimal stock levels, waste reduction expirations, and stockouts
Responsible for capital equipment planning, sourcing, and lifecycle management
Leads inventory and logistics management and risk mitigation
Manage budget, cost controls, par levels, and opportunities for cost savings
Develop staff, fostering accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
Promote service excellence and process improvement
Establish and track KPIs including inventory turns, fill rates, and vendor performance
Collaborate with leadership team on the development and implementation of system or enterprise level strategies
Recruit, direct, and review teams of leaders
Leads organizational initiatives, adapting policies and processes to evolving organizational needs
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent; master's degree preferred
10 or more years of progressive experience, including experience in a leadership or management role
Proficiency with internal controls, contracting and supply chain management
Strong understanding of supply chain strategy and contracting laws and regulations
Excellent analytical and project management skills
Ability to effectively lead large teams and organizational initiatives
Ability to resolve complex issues at a system or enterprise level within tight timeframes while maintaining procedural integrity
High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate and collaborate across large teams, programs, and executives in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality, adjusting message for audience
Works with broad autonomy, accountable for setting direction, managing large teams, and influencing organizational policies while maintaining quality standards
Strong commitment to patient-centered care and the mission of serving the community

Preferred

master's degree preferred
Experience in healthcare, tribal organizations, or mission-driven environments preferred
