Stationary Engineer (Correctional Facility)

Perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, waste water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a State correctional facility
Maintains order, supervises the conduct of incarcerated persons, protects and maintains the safety of persons and property
May instruct or lead incarcerated persons, instruct or lead other engineers, and do other related work
May be required to undergo a physical and pulmonary examination for the respirator program
Participate in confined space training and asbestos abatement
Be certified in Backflow Prevention Program and training for maintenance of lethal electrified fence structure and components
Qualification
Required
Under general direction of the Chief Engineer I, CF the Stationary Engineer performs a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance and repair of boiler, heating, air conditioning, ventilating, lighting, power, water, waste water treatment, and other mechanical systems normally found in a State correctional facility in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
The Stationary Engineer, CF., maintains order, supervises the conduct of incarcerated persons, protects and maintains the safety of persons and property
May instruct or lead incarcerated persons, instruct or lead other engineers, and do other related work
May be required to undergo a physical and pulmonary examination for the respirator program
Participate in confined space training and asbestos abatement
Be certified in Backflow Prevention Program and training for maintenance of lethal electrified fence structure and components
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you should include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter
