The California Department of Developmental Services is responsible for providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Program Assistant (Safety) will assist the Program Director in managing a multi-disciplinary treatment program and ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Assisting the Program Director with the administration of services for a multi-disciplinary treatment program

Planning, implementing, and managing the delivery of services provided by Central Program Services (CPS)

Assuring compliance with licensing conditions and facility policies and regulations

Providing supervision of assigned areas and directing training for individuals

Adhering to and implementing all facility policies and procedures

Responding during various shifts when called upon to ensure safety protocols are upheld

Monitoring provision of direct services and identifying potential security vulnerabilities

Observing individual behaviors and intervening as necessary to prevent harm

Participating in meetings, workgroups, and conferences

Using equipment for report writing and data collection

Required

Must possess and maintain a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician (BVNPT)

License must be in good standing with BVNPT

Must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained within this duty statement

Must be able to respond during various shifts when called upon
