The California Department of Developmental Services is an agency providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Program Assistant will assist the Program Director in the administration and oversight of a multi-disciplinary treatment program, ensuring safety and security for individuals in the program.

Responsibilities

Assists the Program Director in the administration and oversight of a multi-disciplinary treatment program serving individuals with developmental disabilities

Regular interaction with individuals and staff in monitoring direct service provision across on- and off-residence training environments

Responsibilities include oversight of staff performing safety and security duties such as accounting for utensils, inspecting for potential security breaches, escorting forensic individuals, and intervening in behaviors that pose a risk to others or indicate potential escape attempts

Participation in meetings and conferences, and proficient use of equipment for documentation and data collection

Must maintain sufficient physical strength and sensory capabilities to safely perform the duties outlined in this statement, including during emergency or high-stress situations, without compromising personal or public safety

Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions typical of clinical/nursing environments is expected

Participation in meetings and conferences, and proficient use of equipment for documentation and data collection
