Responsibilities

Perform depot-level modifications and new structural integrations and existing structures modifications on the airframe

Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to address and resolve complex structural issues to include documenting inconsistencies and non-conformance, redline documentation, and suggested install corrective actions

Document all maintenance actions in accordance with applicable regulations and standards

Maintain compliance with quality assurance and safety standards, including adherence to Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790 and local SOP and GOPS compliance guidelines

Support aircraft inspections and acceptance procedures and modifications as required

Ensure all tools, test equipment, and consumables are calibrated and maintained per established policies

Required

Minimum 5 years of aviation structure maintenance experience

Proficiency in depot-level maintenance procedures and processes

Knowledge of FAA, military, and industry standards

Familiarity with aircraft structures and airframes

Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration

Proficient in reading, Interpreting and utilize technical manuals (TD / IDP), blueprints, diagrams and engineering drawings

Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas

Locate blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure

Split-Sleeve Cold Working

Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming and preserving structure

Strong knowledge of aircraft and structural principles and techniques specific to aircraft airframes modifications and upgrades

Strong organization and problem-solving skills

Advanced knowledge of aircraft sheet metal / structural modification and repair

Knowledge of aircraft unique tooling such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal breaks, sheers, etc., and ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively

Competence in using precision measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers for accurate measurement assessments

Install structural aircraft upgrades and modifications as needed

Self-starter and ability to work independently in a team environment
