Volunteer Committee: Vice Chair

Digital Collegium is a volunteer-driven organization that engages and celebrates its members. The Vice Chair of the Volunteer Committee will assist in leading operations, support recruitment efforts, and foster a collaborative environment among volunteers.

Responsibilities

Serve as a committee leader to help manage volunteer operations

Assist the Chair in planning for and running monthly committee meetings

Ensure meeting notes are taken and shared

Discuss agenda items with the Chair, and help with related documentation

Coordinate with the Chair for setting meeting and action item reminders

Assign tasks in the project management software and follow up with committee members who may need support or more time to complete tasks

Aid in volunteer outreach, recruitment strategies, and onboarding as needed

Serve in place of the Chair as needed

Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds

Required

Familiar with the Association and the workings of the committees that make up the Association

Demonstrates ability to engage diverse communities and build relationships

Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills

Thinks beyond the Volunteer Committee, and thinks in terms of Association goals

Membership in the Association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
