Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end billing process from engagement setup through final invoice submission and payment posting
Review outside counsel guidelines and ensure compliance with client-specific billing and rate arrangements
Prepare, edit, and finalize prebills and ebills in accordance with attorney and client requirements
Collaborate with eBilling and Collections teams to ensure successful invoice submission and timely payment
Track fee arrangements, budgets, discounts, and write-offs; escalate potential issues proactively
Communicate directly with attorneys and clients regarding billing inquiries, adjustments, and special arrangements
Maintain accurate client/matter data, unallocated funds, and billing codes in the firm's financial system
Support financial reporting, accruals, and ad hoc billing analysis
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior billing team members and participate in process improvement efforts
Qualification
Required
5+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm environment
Proficiency with financial/billing systems (Aderant or Elite 3E preferred)
Strong Excel and data management skills
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision
This role requires previous law firm billing experience. Please do not apply if you do not have law firm billing experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
