Senior Network Engineer
Caelum Research Corporation is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to serve as a Senior Network Specialist on a major IT support contract for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) Headquarters Information Systems Directorate (G6). The role involves reviewing network architecture, leading network security services implementation, and mentoring other engineers in best practices for network architecture and design.

Responsibilities
Review the design and implementation of network architecture components and map them to the long-term vision
Lead the evaluation, design, configuration, and implementation of network security services including firewalls, VPN systems, IDP systems, and NAC systems
Work closely with Cybersecurity stakeholders to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities through the application of STIGs, validate patching and create POAMs as necessary
Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure their infrastructure expectations are being met and priorities are set at the appropriate levels
Recommend business investments to support network advancements and network security
Design, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot wireless networks
Prepare and regularly update network documentation and records including network maps, IPAM, authentication and security information and Layer 2 / 3 outlines and design information
Identify required voice and data equipment, software and services
Provide input into equipment contracts and maintain regular and update inventory lists
Mentor other engineers in best practices for network architecture, design and engineering
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in a directly related field and at least 7 years' experience; Lower-level degrees in relevant fields will be considered with additional experience
Must possess a Security+CE (or equivalent DOD Directive 8570.1 IAT II)
Must hold at least one (1) relevant, current Computing Environment (CE) certification (or be able to obtain one within 6 months of start)
Two years' experience as a working Team Leader, directing and mentoring lower-level network administrators and specialists in maintaining a high-availability production environment
Broad experience required in computer networking operations, configuration, management and maintenance
Experience required with Cisco Software Defined Access
Experience required with Digital Network Architecture
Experience required with Cisco Identity Services Engine
Experience required with TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, VLANs, VRF's
Experience required with general network troubleshooting
Experience required with management of a production environment with the following experience: Automated install, automated build and deployment, automated configuration management, Enterprise monitoring systems, performance and network monitoring tools, operating systems upgrades and migrations
Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software, routing protocols BGP, EIGRP and OSPF, Layer 2, and Cisco VSS, VSP
