Responsibilities

Work closely with attorneys and clients throughout all phases of litigation
Apply knowledge of New York Court Rules (Commercial Civil and Housing), Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and court filing procedures
Review documents for relevance and privilege in accordance with established guidelines
Assist with court filings, including cite- and fact-checking, Bluebook citation review, proofreading, and exhibit preparation
Coordinating trial set-up and logistics as well as serving as liaison among various internal departments
Working closely and directly with attorneys and clients during all phases of litigation; and
Additional responsibilities include supporting attorneys during trial, including assistance with creation of demonstratives and courtroom presentation/support

Required

Minimum 10 years of experience is required
Deep court experience is required
Associates degree or paralegal certificate
Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment while applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Demonstrated flexibility in responding to client and legal team needs
Consistently maintain a high level of productivity
Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients/contacts
Working knowledge of office accounting methods and techniques, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, as well as the ability to learn other programs
Working knowledge of document review platforms, including Relativity and document/deposition management platforms, including Everchron
Proven ability to conduct independent research
Compose and disseminate correspondence as required
