Government Sales & Defense Contracting Lead

The Government Sales & Defense Contracting Lead is responsible for turning the company into a trusted supplier across DoD and allied agencies, managing revenue inflow and government credibility while navigating complex acquisition processes.

Responsibilities
Own all government-facing revenue across DoD, SOCOM, service branches, and federal agencies
Drive opportunities from first briefing → white paper → RFI/RFP → award → follow-on programs
Manage pipeline forecasting, contract timing, and revenue predictability under tight timelines
Navigate FAR, DFARS, OTAs, SBIR/STTR, BAAs, IDIQs, CSOs, and rapid acquisition pathways
Shape solicitations by influencing requirements early-before the RFP drops
Coordinate pricing strategy, contract vehicles, and compliance inputs
Build and maintain trusted relationships with:
Program managers
Contracting officers
Warfighters and end users
Policy stakeholders and integrators
Represent the company in classified and unclassified briefings, demos, and field evaluations
Establish and manage relationships with defense primes and system integrators
Structure teaming agreements, reseller paths, and co-development opportunities where strategic
Translate government needs into actionable requirements for engineering and product
Align demos, test events, and deliverables with customer timelines and funding cycles

Qualification
Required
Proven experience selling into U.S. DoD or federal defense agencies
Deep understanding of defense acquisition and contracting pathways
Demonstrated ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder government deals
U.S. citizenship and ability to support ITAR and clearance-related requirements
Bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and extreme accountability
Preferred
Background in defense tech, UAVs, weapons systems, or autonomy
Experience with OTAs, rapid prototyping programs, or non-traditional defense vendors
Existing relationships within DoD, SOCOM, or service innovation units
Startup or high-growth environment experience
