Responsibilities

Rigorously enforce a defined data classification framework to systematically categorize sensitive information and define commensurate security measures based on sensitivity and regulatory mandates

Design and govern formal data protection policies for the secure handling, storage, and transmission of data across the enterprise and its cloud infrastructure

Strategically leverage orchestration tools and frameworks to automate critical data security processes, including comprehensive data discovery, classification, and streamlined incident response protocols

Implement and manage advanced automated data protection solutions such as encryption, tokenization, and Customer Data Loss Prevention (DLP) across all operational environments

Ensure all data security processes demonstrably meet relevant compliance standards pertinent to AI and SaaS operations (e.g., GDPR, ISO, SOC2)

Conduct proactive and thorough risk assessments and security audits on all data handling and processing activities, delivering definitive and actionable recommendations for vulnerability remediation

Establish and meticulously manage monitoring solutions to promptly detect unauthorized access, potential data breaches, or anomalous data usage within cloud environments

Lead and direct the response to all data security incidents, coordinating containment, exhaustive investigation, and effective remediation in conjunction with key stakeholders

Partner closely with engineering, product, and compliance teams to formally embed security practices throughout the product development and deployment lifecycle

Develop and deliver formalized training and awareness programs concerning data security best practices, secure handling procedures, and incident reporting for all personnel

Required

A Bachelor's degree is required in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline

Demonstrable, hands-on professional experience in cloud-based data security, risk management, and regulatory compliance, specifically within an AI or SaaS operational context

Deep technical expertise in data protection technologies (DLP, encryption) and established security frameworks (NIST, ISO/IEC)

Prior experience with security orchestration tools and demonstrated proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, Github-Actions)

Exceptional analytical, complex problem-solving, and professional communication skills, coupled with the ability to articulate intricate security concepts to both highly technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred

Advanced degrees or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are considered highly advantageous, but not required

Experience with DataBricks is a big plus

Experience with scalable data lake environments like Snowflake, Databrick, Apache Solr

Experience with DSPM tools for customer data security and data clarification

Experience with ISO / SOC2 and AI-SOC Audit (Good to have)
