Responsibilities
Spearhead the end-to-end R&D integration, installation, and deployment of vision-based AI systems onto customer platforms (e.g., armored vehicles, drones) at US government and partner facilities
Develop and architect software modifications and code development (proficient Python) to tailor system outputs and interfaces to specific client platform requirements
Conduct hands-on technical demonstrations and field experiments for end-users, ensuring successful operational performance of the systems in real-world environments
Act as the primary technical liaison between US clients/partners and the headquarters R&D team in Israel, translating complex engineering requirements
Coordinate and manage local technical activities, including the handling of specialized hardware during travel, and managing subcontractors for hardware modifications
Travel frequently (40-50%) across the US to client bases (e.g., Detroit, Maryland, Virginia) to execute integration tasks and support field experiments
Qualification
Required
6–8+ years of experience in an R&D Engineering capacity (strictly avoiding IT, DevOps, or QA-focused roles)
R&D-level expertise in Python and Linux (ability to write and modify production code, not just scripting)
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a 'Hard Science' (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics)
Proven track record of delivering a technical product to end-users through field testing and integration
Experience within the defense, aviation, or robotics sectors
Eligibility for US Security Clearance
Preferred
Strong knowledge of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning
Experience with video streaming protocols and tools (e.g., GStreamer, FFmpeg)
Practical experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (DeepStream, TensorRT)
