Responsibilities
Providing entry-level desktop support services to departmental computers and users
Learning to use and manage the Incident Tracking System
Developing excellent customer service skills
Acquiring basic computer and network troubleshooting abilities
Resolving simple problems via phone, email, and direct messaging
Escalating complex issues to higher-level technicians and supervisors
Studying the fundamentals of microcomputer and basic network design, installation, maintenance, and administration
Staying informed about the latest developments in micro computing and networking by reading current computer journals
Using technical and procedural manuals to address data processing problems
Conducting simple research to find solutions
Participating in online training for entry-level Microsoft microcomputer and network certifications
Qualification
Required
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Customer Service
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Oral Communication
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Reading
Training or experience that developed customer relation skills, knowledge of a variety of desktop applications, and/or knowledge of networking concepts
Written Communication: Writes in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience
Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoots, diagnoses, analyzes, and identifies system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem
