Responsibilities
Provides input to managing the controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval and training for packaging and processing equipment
Assists in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment
Assists with the development and modification of PLC & HMI programs
Provides project engineering support to process areas
Provides controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting
Ensures documentation for control/electrical system and document change control procedures
Assists with the development and management of controls related capital projects
Contributes to determination and maintainability of new process control systems and manage process controls change control procedures for existing equipment
Qualification
Required
Understanding in automated industrial machinery, which includes motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, etc
Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Knowledge of packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment and processes
PLC troubleshooting skills
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
Installation and troubleshooting of basic three phase motor control circuits
Breakdown analysis skills
Ability and skills to troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley MicroLogix and ControlLogix hardware
Perform Allen-Bradley PLC programming implementing RSLogix5, RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 software or equivalent
Implement and troubleshoot industrial communication networks including Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O and DeviceNet communication networks
Ability to read electrical schematics, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's)
Perform PID Loop tuning and implement instrument calibration procedures
Knowledge of programming languages relevant to PLCs
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including PLC controls, networking, and HMI systems
Initiate and develop control system modifications and new projects to improve plant performance and reliability
General knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Knowledge of Wiring, Hydraulic Systems, and Pneumatic Systems
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
