The Application Engineer provides technical sales support and product selection for Turbo Gears in various sectors including Power Generation and Oil & Gas, requiring expertise in mechanical power transmission engineering.

Responsibilities

Support the local Sales Organization in North America in processing customer projects

Analyze customers’ technical requirements (specifications), conduct feasibility checks. Translate project requirements into costing and customer offers

Make initial product selections which meet the customer drive specifications using Voith selection and pricing tools

Support our outside sales staff with technical support during the offer phase e.g. for technical clarification meetings

Once customer order is received, prepare handover documentation to the order execution team in the factory and conduct the handover

Contribute in continuous improvement of tools and processes and implementation of individual improvement initiatives

Required

Bachelor of engineering degree from four-year accredited college or university

Experience in the drive system design & engineering with regards to the following: High speed rotating equipment (general), High speed gearboxes, speed increasers & speed reducers, Steam & gas turbines, Centrifugal compressors, Centrifugal pumps & fans

Demonstrate effective communication & collaboration teamwork skills

Ability to multi-task based on business need

Excellent time management skills

Hybrid work possible; work in the Houston office is expected
